Revival

Our dying churches need revival just like a dying man in a hospital. Or, better still, resurrect our dead churches. Only the Spirit of God can do that. No amount of organizational change, polity, or whatever can resurrect a dead church except God Himself. We probably lost the Spirit and need to go back with contrite heart to repent from our worldly life. Gone are the days when ministers are willing to be poor so that their parishioners may be enriched. How many of us are willing to become destitute for the sake of kingdom building?

"Donald Trump has made it obvious that my old church is not filled with followers of Christ. You cannot follow Jesus and support a tax cut for the rich that would end health care to millions of the oldest, poorest and sickest people. You cannot follow Jesus and hate minorities. You cannot follow Jesus and treat women as inferior."

– Brett Younger, senior minister at Plymouth Church in Brooklyn, NY, writing for Baptist News Global,
