A consistent vision

Dan, I agree with so much of what you say. I also believe that the Call to Action proposal is inconsistent with our Wesleyan heritage and theology. I have submitted a petition to General Conference which I believe may restore some counter-cultural sanity to our church. If we choose, the United Methodist Church could make a very positive difference in the United States and around the globe. This blog post explains my rather unusual vision for the church, and contains a link to my petitions which I believe is a step toward making this vision happen.

"Donald Trump has made it obvious that my old church is not filled with followers of Christ. You cannot follow Jesus and support a tax cut for the rich that would end health care to millions of the oldest, poorest and sickest people. You cannot follow Jesus and hate minorities. You cannot follow Jesus and treat women as inferior."
