The God of no compromise

Many people fear compromise because it implies they may be--at least partially--wrong about something. I'm constantly amazed by the number of people whose god is so small that they have already learned all there is to know about the deity. With nothing left to learn, there's no need to grow, expand, or change.

The God of no compromise ...

This piece is an interesting analysis of the dynamics of the current government shutdown, but in this case it is not the "evangelical" Republicans who have stated a refusal to negotiate. Truly, the delusion of infallibility is not the exclusive sin of any particular group, but is a universally exhibited human failing.

Seasons are changing. North of the equator, we turn toward fall and winter, while in the southern hemisphere spring and summer approach. Through all the changes of seasons and life, God is with us; we are not alone. United Methodist Insight affirms this hope, and brings news and views intended to help discern the signs of God at work in the world through God's people.
