Can the Bishops Lead?

We have an episcopacy with no teeth. Our Bishops don't have the authority we all think they have. If GC19 told us anything it was that the episcopacy as an office is neither respected by either side nor valued. Either we let the Bishops lead or maybe need to rethink the role of Bishop.

General Conference Decision was the right one

This has nothing to do with welcoming all to attend services. It has everything to do with authority of the Word of God and faithfully interpreting it. Exegesis -- not eisegesis -- to which the church rightly reconfirmed it's commitment. The United Methodist church has been united until recently in doctrine and in the way conflicts would be resolved. We have reached a fork in the road that has already been crossed. An alternative network of ecclesial
teaching and practice is now being implemented with gusto on the ground. The General Conference decision was the right one.
