Tearing It Down to the Frame

Classic Approach

There are two approaches to your classic car. Keep it original or strip to the frame and rebuild with different parts. The Traditional Plan keeps it original. I like keeping original in both cases.

Wesley saw the problem in having bishops. They get the "Big Head" and start doing whatever they want. That's why he set us up with Superintendents instead. Our current bishop problem goes back to Asbury wanting an upgrade to bishop against Wesley's desires. He ignored Wesley and got his upgrade anyway. Just like our bishops today ignoring our Book of Discipline and recommending a life of debauchery to the flocks under their care. Wesley would dismiss them in two shakes of a Billy Goats tail.

I am good with this

I much prefer your plan than the current plans floating around. Most of the current plans guarantee compete break down and dissolution to the benefit of the conservatives while the rest of us are stuck finding new homes. I am wary of maintaining connection with others who simply want an excuse to move on with property and money. This gives everyone something they can call their own.

Notable Quotes

"A preoccupation with the faithfulness of others is too easily used as a means of evading the demands of the Gospel on our own lives."

    – The Rev. Dr. Frederick W. Schmidt, "Jesus Never Said, 'Go Make Others Do Things.'

"Christ told us specifically where He would be found and where we were to worship Him as Christians until He came in glory: Christ is in the people who need our help. Christ is in hungry and thirsty people; in people without adequate clothing and shelter; in people who are strangers in a strange land and people who are imprisoned. Any so-called Christianity that ignores or, God forbid, abuses such people is pernicious heresy from the pit of hell. You spit on the Body of Christ in the Chalice when you abuse Him in the body of your neighbor."

– Mary Pezzulo, "How to Help Imprisoned Migrants," on her blog "Steel Magnificat" on Patheos.com.
