It's Time to Leave, Progressives

Let us out of here. We cannot continue to live in a UMC where hatred is allowed, let alone encouraged, to prevail in even one conference.

The Way Forward Commission and COB have left us without options. Let us out!

the emerging train wreck

I hope progressive Methodists will have discussed these three options and are developing a bail out strategy. Option 1 (leading choice of conervatives) will necessitate leaving..or capitulating. Option 3 will require reforming an inclusive church. Either way it is time to reorganize or preoare for unconditional surrender.

Unfortunately Not

What I am hearing from my local progressive clergy is, "We are fighting but, if we cannot get what we want, oh well. We will some day." In other words, they are prepared to surrender.

I will never surrender.

Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove "When Jesus said, 'I have come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly' in John 10:10, he wasn’t thinking about a victory for those who have used religion to fight back against the gains of the civil rights movement. Jesus was inviting all of us to work together for the vision at the heart of that movement — a beloved community where all people created in God’s image can thrive."
