The huge elephant in the room

I applaud the COB for seeking understanding from the Judicial Council and do not doubt that in this particular case they will follow the will of the Judicial Council with great alacrity while continuing to ignore the Judicial Council ruling re the election of Olivetto as bishop. Either a church's processes work all the time or they do not work at all--when leadership starts picking and choosing which decisions are "right" and which are "wrong" then the church is in deeper trouble than it knows. I have just enough respect left for the church I grew up in to let the way forward process play out through GC2020 before I start entertaining thoughts of shaking the dust off my feet and moving on. The image of the church as the Emperor with no clothes on is a valid one.

GC2020

Betsy and everyone should hold tight until the 2020 GC. At a recent district meeting it was brought up that if there is a straight up and down vote on the bishops plan then it may fail and the whole issue will fall on the 2020 GC, which will become a real wild west battle. Even if something passes it is possible that the GC 2020 will be needed to adjust or reverse what is done in 2019. Frankly until one group or the other leaves the church then the war will never truly end.

GC2020

And why would I want to be a member of a church that lurches from one GC battle to another?

Bishop Kenneth L. Carder "Those who use hate-filled tactics to 'defend truth'" whether in politics or religion, betray the essence of truth. Truth and love are conjoined twins giving life to one another. They are heart and brain working in concert; severing them means death to both."
