Support the Process!

A view from a disenchanted lifelong Methodist/United Methodist: This is hard enough without every Tom, Dick and Harriet insisting that their voices be heard--this is the reason we are in this mess to begin with--too many factions concerned about their specific viewpoints! The Bishops absolutely know what is at stake here--they have already had a huge task in discarding 90 per cent of those nominated. Big Tent Methodism with contradictory and conflicting view points that cancel each other out is absolutely killing the UMC; it has produced a bunch of immature, childish, whiny brat Christians who have to have their way! And to think I used to believe that "being a Methodist" meant something!

Way Forweard

Asking for equal representation for the Laity is NOT being whiny or being a brat. Is there any wonder Laity doesn't trust Clergy? In my humble opinion is should be 50-50 and the bishops can be included in with the clergy. As far as the "inclusive" participants goes, it should adhere to the equal opportunity guidelines established by our government which states the best qualified regardless of race, age, gender, or sexual orientation .

Maturity and Immaturity

Nothing immature about expecting equal representation and transparency.
