Interesting logic

You propose that accepting a new understanding of sexuality will bring people flocking into the UMC. Interesting considering the election of a lesbian Bishop did not do anything to reverse the numerical and financial decline in the two conferences she oversees. The same can be said for every other mainline denomination that has embraced this new understanding. Meanwhile, denominations like the Wesleyan Church who have stood fast with the traditional understanding continues to grow; in fact, several years ago they experienced three consecutive years of record growth.

Here Is a Generation that Thinks

It has been said that here is a generation that thinks it is not sinful and has no need of salvation. In this case any lifestyle will do. Those that truly love the Lord purify themselves with the help of the Spirit: I John 3:3 "And all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as He is pure."

Your Tent Is Too Small

Why limit the group of victims to queer folk? What of heterosexual unmarried persons who have sexual desire, especially those who prefer lifelong marriage but can't find anyone to make that commitment to them? Aren't they in the same untenable position, vis-a-vis our UM strictures, in which queer folk are said to be?

This seems to be more silly 'whataboutism"

The analogy does not compute. LGBTQIA couples who marry are equivalent to heterosexual couples who marry, not single people of whatever orientation. If people "can't find anyone," in these days of online dating and so much else, one can reasonably conclude they are not trying all that hard, and mostly because they are really preferring singlehood over couplehood. There are certain "Men's Rights" organizations which include subsets like "Incels," or self-affirming "Involuntary Celibates" who whine about their singlehood while at the same time fat-shaming women. It is ironic that such as these celebrate the current President, whose marriages to three women considered exceptional in traditional beauty standards who can't do the math and understand he bought ad paid for such. These ridiculous false comparisons only beg the question. Not all will marry, but that's no reason to prohibit same sex couples from doing so. That's like the old Medevial practice of beating children on "Innocents Day," a traditional feast day to honor the innocent male infants slaughtered by Herod in Bethlehem in hopes of stopping one who fled to Egypt from becoming The Messiah. On the other hand the logic works for those who revel in bullying who most often had traumatic childhoods.
