Important part of prayer left out

Just curious as to why you left out a very important - and at this time a very relevant part of that prayer: The whole prayer is - From the cowardice that shrinks from new truth, From the laziness that is content with half truth, From the arrogance that thinks it knows all truth, O God of truth deliver us.

Them

You state, "Indeed, many of them are individuals whom I have come to love," and therein lies the problem - the conversation is always different when you can lump a whole group into "them." First and foremost all are beloved of God. Whether gay, straight, fat, thin, red, orange or purple. God loves all of God's children and calls us to do the same. Congratulations Bishop Talbert! May God grant courage and strength to your colleagues to envelop all in God's healing grace.

Is Today the Beginning of the end for UMC

I cannot believe this article was given "space". This whole same sex marriage issue is so blown out of proportion when considering our mandate from the Lord Jesus Christ's to go and make disciples of all nations. Has anyone heard that the gates of hell will not prevail against His church? In the grand scheme of things, this same sex marriage issue is a screen blip. Give it a rest!
