'Not Saying – Just Asking'

As there is only one God, there is only one truth. Your comparisons of the treatment of blacks and slaves to homosexuals are misleading. Being black or being a slave is not equitable to sinning. Like it or not,
scripture identifies practicing homosexuality as a sin. As with any sin, forgiveness is there for the asking. I believe that the push for same-sex marriage and the ordination of gay clergy is in the kindest terms, misguided. However, I fear that there is something much more nefarious afoot. If you believe that accepting these practices will broaden the appeal of the UMC and increase membership, it will not. The path to salvation is narrow and difficult. Broad and easy is the path to destruction.
