Excuse me, Your Arrogance, in America, We The People all vote!

What an example of arrogance: "Copeland would rather the pastor and other local church leaders make that call.

“Any time we have a (congregational) vote it’s potentially divisive,” said Copeland, longtime pastor of Dallas’ Lovers Lane United Methodist Church.

All preachers, leaders, and bishops of the UMC should remember: People can vote with their feet and their pledge card if you push them too far.

Notable Quotes

Retired Bishop William Willimon“Part of being in a church is to be with people that you don’t agree with and many of whom you don’t like. As a bishop, I should be the person saying, ‘I’m going to make it as hard as I can for [this division to occur].’”

– Retired Bishop Will Willimon, quoted in the Duke Chronicle, the student newspaper of UMC-related Duke University.
