Africa on its own.

The African conferences can't have it both ways. They can't on one hand demand high levels of support from the US and then on the other hand ask us to endorse discrimination. I don't see continuing to uphold unjust policies on the continent that literally get people hurt and in some cases killed to maintain church unity. Maybe if they insist on maintaining their way of life they should also figure out how to pay for their Bishops and Pastors and education systems as well.

Notable Quotes

The Rev. Dr. William Barber II    “Now I know somebody's out there saying, 'Well, did you get that from the Democrats? Did you get that from the progressives?' No, I got it from the Bible. Jesus said that every nation is going to be judged by how it treats the poor, how it treats the least of these, how it treats the sick and the hungry and in prisons. I got it from the prophets that Jews, Muslims and Christians honor. Isaiah 10 said: Woe unto those who legislate evil and rob the poor of their rights and make women and children their prey.”

– The Rev. William Barber II, co-chair of the Poor People's Campaign, quoted from its June 20, 2020 online rally that drew some 1 million viewers.
