Why is this hard to understand?

Why is the traditional position so hard to understand. Passage of the One Church Plan means that the denomination endorses sin in our eyes. To us the UMC would be apostate. No year of prayer, no call for unity, no clever preaching by the Bishops will change that position. If the OCP passes we will leave, in mass and individually. The UMC will hemorrhage massive numbers of members and churches. Most of the large evangelical churches will leave, even if they have to abandon their property. The WCA is not the iceburg, it is just the tip. Not solving this problem will have the same effect. We are all worn out by the constant arguing, and it is preventing ministry. The choice is either one rapidly declining denomination with the OCP or two that are free to set their own course and grow. The Bishops can moan all they want about unity but it is too late. They are the ones who allowed violations of the BOD and scripture to occur, and now it is time to suffer the consequences. No disrespect to Bishop Harvey but it is impossible for two sides that consider the other side sinners to remain united. Nothing short of Jesus appearing in person at the GC and telling us what to do would bring unity.

"Christ told us specifically where He would be found and where we were to worship Him as Christians until He came in glory: Christ is in the people who need our help. Christ is in hungry and thirsty people; in people without adequate clothing and shelter; in people who are strangers in a strange land and people who are imprisoned. Any so-called Christianity that ignores or, God forbid, abuses such people is pernicious heresy from the pit of hell. You spit on the Body of Christ in the Chalice when you abuse Him in the body of your neighbor."
