Schism the better path

Amicable separation may not be so amicable, but just as a truce isn't peace it is still preferable to armed conflict. And as attempts go forward to repress the the pro gay activists the conflict will only intensify to the point that separation will be chosen as the less painful path.

Suggestion

I found your lovely book called Devotional Life in the Wesleyan Tradition. I think as a church denomination we have gotten away from those Wesleyan practices in prayer that allow us to have the level of diversity we do and be able to stay together. I think the root cause is this lack of Devotional life. I think a few pieces of The Group Meeting and Constant Company of Christ would help. Thanks for taking the time to create such a wonderful resource...

Schism: We Won't Get Off That Easy

One side exists to say you can live a life of debauchery and still please God, so Biblical Issues are a stake. But they have no place to go if they left, so they aren't going anywhere. Romans 8:8 says "Those whose lives are in the flesh are unable to please God." Romans 8:6 says "The mind-set of the flesh is death." To be true to God, ministers who promote sexual perversion must be removed promptly and automatically. Wesley could deal with this effectively. Can our General Conference? Lives depend on it!
