The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry in Nashville, Tenn., has announced the following deadlines for grants to foster theological education and increase the number of younger clergy.
Deadline to apply for Central Conference Theological Education grants, Thursday, Jan. 30. Central Conference Theological Education grants will be awarded for projects aimed at improving United Methodist theological education in the central conferences in Africa, Europe, and the Philippines. Deadline to apply for Young Clergy Initiative grants, Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 11:59 p.m. CST. Young Clergy Initiative grants will be awarded from a $7 million fund created by General Conference 2012, to applicants who develop innovative projects that could attract young people to ordained ministry in The United Methodist Church. Applications not completed or submitted by the deadline will remain open for completion, submission, and consideration for the second round of grants. Deadline for the second round is July 2.
