The General Council on Finance and Administration's legal department runs the UMC’s Group Ruling Program, which covers how to gain IRS tax-exempt status. Churches and associated ministries can apply to GCFA for their federal tax exemption letter, rather than going through the IRS. Check out the newly redesigned website www.umgroupruling.org.
