We have come to a milestone in our life as the Yellowstone Annual Conference. The Conference Office in Billings, Montana will close on June 30, 2018.
It’s not easy to close an office. Despite great distances, the office is the central place in our connection. Anita Saas, Patty Griffith, and Rochelle Smith have served with grace and dedication, and they deserve our sincere gratitude and appreciation.
This closure will occur regardless of the vote on Mission Shaped Future at Annual Conference in Ogden in June. The intention is to consolidate some of the administrative functions and financial operations of both Rocky Mountain and Yellowstone annual conferences to re-align our resources, as recommended by the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) and our consultant. This has also been a long-standing conversation in the Yellowstone Conference about maximizing its resources.
Anita Saas will stay on for a period of time beyond June 30 to help with the transition.
“Please join me in thanking our staff people for their faithful work on behalf of all of us,” said Bishop Karen Oliveto.
A time to express your gratitude to our staff will be held at a date to be announced.
