Publishing House Defers Hymnal Because of UMC Unrest

A good idea anyway.

Even without the current tension over LGBTQIA+ issues in the UMC, the contemporary music vs hymns, along with the trend in even smaller churches toward projecting lyrics on a screen, would make the creation of a new hymnal to be used across the UMC more trouble than it's worth. The proposed alternative of a collection of worship resources would be far more useful to a larger array of congregations.

Good decision

As it has become apparent that a separation is necessary to continue to a church sooner rather than wait to be destroyed from the inside out, I’d say the right call was made.

Wise move.
