'Children, You Have No Fish, Have You?'

 Jesus appears to his disciples – John 21:1-9

 Jesus shows himself to his disciples. This appearance occurred in the Galilee region next to the Sea of Tiberius.  Peter decides to go fishing.  This time he was with other disciples, and they gathered to fish in the Sea of Galilee. Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.”  I think that after a long, sad day, disappointed by the circumstances, they thought that the best thing was to go on with their lives, and they looked for a way to go on with their work.  Since they were fishermen, they were hoping to find fish so they could feed their families.  But their great surprise was that after working all night, they found themselves with all of the nets empty.  How frustrated they must have felt.  They had lost hope; they were exhausted.  I think they believed nothing was worth the effort since their master was no longer with them.  It was as if they had lost everything.

This is precisely what happens now in the ministry of Christ.  When we work to reach new people for Jesus Christ and we do not see results, we find ourselves in the same situation as Peter and the other disciples – worn out, tired, exhausted, and without hope.  But when there is a commitment to the All-Powerful, we must realize that we will be disappointed.  But we must continue, and we must not grow weary in doing good.  Instead, we must be men and women of faith and continue in prayer and action, hoping that in the end we will receive the reward from the living God.  It is marvelous when the Lord Jesus appears not only in your spiritual life, but also in your work life and your personal life.  He is always interested in every aspect of our lives.  And we will be able to see Him when he looks for us on the beach and asks about food.  Jesus said to them, “Children, you have no fish, have you?” They answered him, “No.” He said to them, “Cast the net to the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in because there were so many fish.  The Lord always asks for something more from us.  In this case, he was asking about food, even knowing that they did not have any fish.  But that is how He tests us to see how much we trust Him.  Nevertheless, He promised that He would always be with his disciples, and it is here where we see the master work of our Lord Jesus, because the divine providence of God is always with his sons and daughters.  Even when life denies these things, even when it seems that everything is over and there is no exit, the Resurrected Christ always has something to give us.  He has the solution for our lives.  

 That disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on some clothes, for he was naked, and jumped into the sea.  How many times has the Lord blessed us, searched for us, encouraged us, and we have not recognized him?  How many times have we been the same as the disciples, blind, not able to recognize the marvels, the miracles, the signs that God carries out in our lives?  Because God continues showing up in our lives, God continues feeding us with bread of life, so that we are satisfied, fed from the Word, and we continue carrying the news of salvation.

 My conclusion is: I believe that God lives in us, and that it is our responsibility to commit ourselves more and more each day to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  God has always been manifested in our lives and will continue doing so until the Second Coming.  And our commitment is to follow Him, to serve Him, to worship Him, and not to allow anyone to keep us from the mission with which we have been entrusted.  Because, at times, we won’t catch any fish.  But the final victory is the best because our nets will be full of the divine providence of God.  Amen.

 Jesús se aparece a siete de sus discípulos

4 Mayo, 2025 — Tercer domingo de la Resurrección

 Juan 21:1-9

Jesus se manifiesta a sus discípulos esta aparición se llevó a cabo en la región de Galilea Junto al mar de Tiberias. Pedro decide ir a pescar esta vez estaba con otros discípulos y se le unieron para pescar en el Mar de Galilea. Simón Pedro les dijo: Voy a pescar. Creo que después de un dia largo, triste, decepcionados por las circunstancias, pensaron que lo mejor era la continuar con sus vidas y buscaron la manera de seguir haciendo sus labores, ya que eran pescadores, ellos esperaban encontrar peces para seguir alimentando a sus familias, pero su gran sorpresa fue que después de trabajar toda la noche se encuentran con las redes vacías, que frustrantes se han de haber sentido, habían perdido la esperanza; estaban agotados, creo que ellos pensaron que nada había valido la pena, ya su maestro no estaba con ellos, como si todo se había perdido.

Esto mismo es lo que pasa en la actualidad en el ministerio de Cristo, cuando trabajamos por alcanzar nuevas personas para Jesucristo y no vemos frutos y nos encontramos en la misma situación como estaba Pedro con sus discípulos, trabajados, cansados, agotados y sin esperanza, pero cuando hay un compromiso con el Todopoderoso se debe considerar que seremos decepcionados; pero tenemos que continuar y no debemos cansarnos de hacer el bien; sino que debemos de ser hombres y mujeres de fe y continuar en oración, y en acción, esperando que al final recibiremos la recompensa del Dios viviente. Es maravilloso cuando el Señor Jesus aparece no solo en tu vida espiritual, sino también en tu trabajo, en tu vida personal, el siempre esta interesado en cada aspecto de nuestras vidas, y lo podemos ver cuando los busca en la playa y les pide de comer Y les dijo: Hijitos, ¿tenéis algo de comer? Le respondieron: No. Él les dijo: Echad la red a la derecha de la barca, y hallaréis. Entonces la echaron, y ya no la podían sacar, por la gran cantidad de peces. El señor siempre pide algo más de nosotros, en este caso pidió de comer, aun sabiendo que no tenían peces, pero así nos prueba , para ver qué tanto confiamos en él. mas sin embargo, su promesa fue que siempre estaría con sus discípulos y es aquí donde vemos la obra maestra de nuestro Señor Jesus, porque la divina providencia de Dios siempre esta con sus hijos e hijas, aunque la vida te niegue las cosas, aunque parece que todo haya terminado y ya no hay otra salida, El Jesús Resucitado siempre tiene algo para darnos, el tiene la solución para nuestras vidas.

 Entonces aquel discípulo a quien Jesús amaba dijo a Pedro: ¡Es el Señor! Simón Pedro, cuando oyó que era el Señor, se ciñó la ropa (porque se había despojado de ella), y se echó al mar. Cuántas veces el señor nos ha bendecido, nos ha buscado, nos ha alentado y no le hemos reconocido? Cuántas veces hemos estado igual que los discípulos y ciegos sin poder reconocer las maravillas, los milagros, las señales que Dios hace en nuestras vidas, porque él sigue manifestando hoy en día, el sigue alimentándonos con el pan de vida, para que seamos saciados, nutridos de su Palabra y continuemos llevando las nuevas de salvación.

 Mi conclusión es: yo creo que Dios vive en nosotros, y que es nuestra responsabilidad comprometernos cada día más con Padre, el Hijo y El Espíritu Santo, Dios siempre se ha manifestado en nuestras vidas, y lo seguirá haciendo hasta su segunda venida, y nuestro compromiso es seguirle, servirle, adorarlo, y que nadie nos detenga con la misión que se nos ha encomendado, porque a veces no tendremos peces, pero la victoria final es la mejor porque nuestra redes serán llenas de la providencia divina de Dios. Amen.
