The church is not a building

What is becoming more clear to me as darkened church buildings remain empty day after day, is that the life of the church - the love of Christ embodied IN US - goes on. Our congregation is drawn together via the wonderful technology available: email notes of information and caring from our pastor, daily prayer requests with instantaneous ability to pray, streaming and YouTube broadcasts of services set in our beloved but empty church sanctuary. What I believe this unfortunate pandemic will engender is the recognition that WE are the Church of Christ and the labels we’ve created to divide us are man-made. The love of Christ transcends church buildings and labels. We are one in Christ and the at-one-ment of a resurrected Christ lives. The tomb is empty because Christ LIVES! Hallelujah!
