Things happen for a reason

Humans are under the spell that we are in much more control of things than we like to admit." I would say that "humans are under the lie of Satan that we are in much more control....." Things do happen for a reason. The creator of all things (God) is sovereign over all things. Who chose us before the beginning of the world? Who predestined us for adoption in Christ Jesus? Who forgave our sins through the shedding of his Son's blood? Who loved us while we were yet filthy sinners? Who by His grace saves his creation? We all who are dead in our trespasses and sins and without hope are certainly not in control of our eternal future. Things do happen for a reason. And that reason is for the glory of God. As you stated in your last sentence, until the created puts their full faith and trust in the creator (Jesus) our sense of who really is in control is misguided. Thanks for reminding me who's really in control and why things really do happen for a reason.
