Luanshya, Zambia - The United Methodist Africa Forum is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a forum for African delegates to the 2024 General Conference from January 4th to 7th, 2024, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This forum is exclusively dedicated to delegates committed to preserving the unity of the United Methodist Church.
The United Methodist Africa Forum supports Regionalization as stated in the Christmas Covenant proposal and would like to discuss this proposal with African delegates and hear their inputs as we head to General Conference.
In anticipation of this significant event, the United Methodist Africa Forum is launching a fundraising campaign with the goal of raising USD 400,000. These funds will be essential in providing vital resources to enable the active and effective participation of African delegates in the General Conference, where crucial decisions about the future of the church will be made.
The United Methodist Africa Forum recognizes the importance of a united church and is committed to ensuring that African voices play a pivotal role in shaping its future. The 2024 General Conference marks a pivotal moment for the church, as discussions on various matters, including the denomination's structure, will take place. African delegates dedicated to upholding the unity of the church will play a vital role in these deliberations.
Fundraising Campaign:
The online fundraising campaign's primary objective is to secure the necessary financial support to cover travel expenses, conference-related costs, accommodations, and other associated expenses for African delegates. Contributions to this campaign will empower these dedicated delegates, enabling them to actively participate in the General Conference and advocate for unity of the church.
