The General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR) is excited to partner with The Plan for Hispanic/Latino Ministry to present a compelling webinar series on Understanding AfroLatinidad.
Held during Hispanic Heritage Month, this series is designed to illuminate the rich and complex realities of AfroLatines, providing a critical space for reflection and education on Latino anti-Blackness and the daily lived experiences of AfroLatines in the United States.

2. Blackness in Latin America

3. Latino Anti-Blackness

Overview: Delve into the roots and repercussions of anti-Blackness in Latino communities, examining its historical origins and discussing actionable steps toward change. This workshop highlights the different forms of anti-Blackness within the Latino community and how these can be dismantled.
4. Daily Lived Experiences of Afro-Latinos in the U.S.

Overview: Understand the unique experiences of Afro-Latinos in the United States, highlighting both the challenges they face and their resilience and contributions to society. This session will explore their history, current social and economic status, and discuss ways to create a more just and equitable society for Afro-Latinos.
