More than 90 volunteers assembled 10,000-plus meals for hungry people on March 25 at Belmont-Watertown United Methodist Church in Belmont, Mass. The Rev. We Hyun Chang posted photos on Facebook of the crowd assembling the meal packages as park of a Rise Against Hunger event sponsored by the Stop Hunger Now organization.
As of March 25, Belmont-Watertown UMC had come within $650 of its donation goal for Rise Against Hunger. Donations can still be made via the event website.
Encouraged by his church's accomplishment, Rev. Chang posted: "The first Rise Against Hunger at BWUMC was an inspiring and fun success. Maybe 20,000 meals next year?"
