A Reflection on Exclusion and Language

"We in the church must speak words that unequivocally break through the stereotypes that exclude others from our communities. We must practice radical hospitality that welcomes the stranger, knowing that we are entertaining angels and perhaps even embracing Jesus himself."

How is it that we are willing to so graciously extend the love of Christ in such a situation while yet excluding our own UMC GLBT members? When will we extend the love of Christ to our own as well?

When will our Book of Discipline reflect such love?
