Reason Methodist are declining

I very very betrayed by our so called leaders and the many unnecessary boards and councils that represent nobody but themselves. People are leaving in droves in my state and neighboring states due to the fact that some who view themselves as enlightened and know more than God's inspired scripture that they must find a church that actually teaches and follows scripture. Methodist Church is DOA. This did not have to be and a separation can still be accomplished only if the leaders and boards get out of the way.

Fixed it for you

"Actually teaches scripture" used in this context means "oppresses the marginalized through selective scriptural interpretation which confirms the speakers prejudices, in that LGBTs are seriously harmed yet the divorced and remarried sit right there on the front pew as "good Christians (TM)."

So, does anybody want to hear my story

Of being harmed and marginalized by the church. Probably not because I do not fit into the current definition of the "oppressed" because I am a white heterosexual female traditionalist which automatically somehow categorizes me as "privileged"--a concept I know nothing about. The church is not experiencing uninterrupted numerical decline because it is marginalizing a few designated categories of people. In its current state it is capable of harming and marginalizing a lot of people regardless of sexual orientation or race.

Were you beaten or raped because of your white heterosexuality, jailed, fired from jobs, thrown out of your home at age 12, repeatedly threatened, excluded, had your institutions burned, stalked, been denounced by name in newspapers and such? No? Conratulations, you is privileged. If you do not know this you lack awareness of the world and reality.
