A thoughtful but confusing piece

You advocate for "the free exchange and competition between ideas" as related to "the quest for truth and wisdom" -- a standard and admirable idea in the world of secular thinking. In religious thought there should be one guide in the quest for truth and wisdom, and that guide doesn't allow for freedom of ideas. This can apply to the question of setting moral boundaries in educational pursuits. Books which explicitly depict sexual acts can easily be deemed no more appropriate for high schoolers than those which advocate or glorify slavery.
