FBI’s New Hate Crime Report Captures an America Changed by Hate

So the UMC has a stance against hate crimes

Question is, what exactly does the church have to offer the people who commit these crimes that will convince them there is a better way? And just for the record, I am 100% against the designation of "hate crimes" because it elevates a specific class of people above everybody else. When anybody commits a crime against somebody else, there is obviously no love involved. Christianity is about everybody having equal footing in God's eyes. I believe God is equally saddened when he sees people committing crimes against each other, no matter the motive.

Excellent Point

That the designation of "hate crime" elevates a specific class of people above everybody else. No need for that.
