Rethinking the Narrow Gate

Love yes, Sin no

Sorry pastor, you were right in your younger years, the wide gate reference is clearly describing unrepentant sinners (which can include any number of judgy Christians). Jesus instructed us to love people no matter what their lifestyle or sin condition, as our Father loves us. He didn't say that love trumps God's word about sin. So doctrine is probably still needed to help Christians remember all of His commandments.

it begins at home

"If you do not want to be judged, then do not judge others. For the way you judge others will come back to you-full circle" Matthew 7:1-2 First Nations Version. We get to let God handle the judging; our job is to show the same unconditional love that we receive. to everyone we encounter.
