Your Decision

Jesus lived a moral life and calls us to the same. If you don't agree with this and Methodist doctrine, I understand your decision. However, since the Bible is clear that we need to live a moral life, you might strive to understand why God asks this of us.

I wish you the best of luck as you explore ordination opportunities in a denomination more in line with your theological beliefs. And I greatly admire and applaud your decision to stand by your principles and remove yourself from the UMC ordination process rather than violating an oath before God and His people that you will be faithful to our Discipline, knowing you cannot agree with our Denomination’s guiding laws and principles. I disagree with your interpretation of Scripture but admire your integrity. Good luck on your faith journey.
