Lowell Street UMC, Greenwood, S.C. has started a new ministry, Cupboard and Closet, recently.
Founded by Jean Creswell, Cupboard and Closet is a ministry to the Greenwood Mill Village out of the House on the Hill for people who need a little help with food and new or gently used clothing.
Bow and Arrow Center of Hope is partnering with Lowell Street UMC on the ministry.
Krissi Raines, founder of the Bow and Arrow Center of Hope, said they have been thinking and praying for the last three months on God’s desire to have a center in Greenwood.
“This is where we started four years ago but had to regroup, along with most people, when COVID started,” Raines said. (Church pastor the Rev. Cheryl) Remchuk heard of our desire to open in Greenwood, and less than a week later she and the board at Lowell Street voted for us to open an office within their church. We have much to do, but we are so excited for this beautiful partnership.”
Bow and Arrow Center of Hope will be able to offer two therapist offices, two therapeutic mentoring/group rooms and numerous educational classes/events within this location.
Remchuk said Lowell Street UMC welcomes Bow and Arrow with open arms and the blessings of Jesus: “It is our prayer that many lives will receive help and healing through this organization. We are just one of several large mill churches in Greenwood that can fill our empty spaces with purposeful groups that support the work of others.”
