A leader in the Eastern Zimbabwe Annual Conference, his wife and two traveling companions were killed Dec. 5 outside Old Mutare when their car sideswiped a truck, veered off the road and overturned.
According to a Manica Post article by Tendai Gukutikwa: "The accident, which occurred ... in Headlands along the Mutare-Harare Highway, claimed the life of Reverend Duncan Charwadza and his wife Janet Charwadza (52), Edwin Kudzaishe (26) and their driver Joice Mushamiri (26)."
Rev. and Mrs. Charwadza had just returned from an international trip along with other members of the church cabinet and Bishop Eben Nhiwatiwa, who is retiring this year. Rev. Charwadza was one of this year's session of the annual conference.
