Washington, D.C. – As the nation marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., on April 4, 1968, United Methodists will unite with members of the National Council of Churches for the Truth and Racial Justice Initiative. Staff and members of the General Commission on Religion & Race and the General Board of Church and Society, along with United Methodist bishops, will participate in the three-day event.
