Wesley Bros header
With no small amount of shock, United Methodist Insight and dozens of other supporters found the following note in a Dec. 3 email:
"Dear Wesley Bros Community,
"You have been a tremendous support and community these years. I never imagined this comic would grow into what it has, and I'm thankful for the journey we've taken together so far.
"I'm announcing that I'm taking a sabbatical from comic writing. The web page and store will remain open, but there will be no new comics or Facebook posts for the foreseeable future. My Patreon page will be "unlaunched" during this time so you're not being charged for a comic that's not being written!
"I have loved writing these comics. They have been a source of great joy in my life. But they have also been very time-consuming on top of full time ministry and family life, and for now, I need to refocus my energies.
"May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift his countenance upon you and give you peace. Amen.
"Grace and peace,
"Charlie Baber
"'The best of all is, God is with us.' – John Wesley"
While our heart aches at this news, we fully recognize and endorse Rev. Baber's decision, because we know from our own experience that church pursuits can eat up your life. We thank Charlie for all he has given us, and wish him all the best.
