When United Methodists hear of a need, they respond!
The Rev. Calvin Hill, pastor of the Blackfeet United Methodist Parish (BUMP) reports his community is so grateful for all of the food, paper supplies, hygiene items, and baby supplies that church members have sent their way. For now, they have all they can store.
Items still on their way will go to Christ UMC, in Great Falls, and Columbia Falls UMC. As the items in Browning now are distributed, more will be brought from Great Falls and Columbia Falls. (There is limited storage space at the annex in Browning). Firewood is still needed and is being supplied, but contributors should check first with the coordinators listed on the conference website before delivery.
The Blackfeet United Methodist Parish (BUMP) serves the people who live on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation located just east of Glacier National Park in the state of Montana. BUMP, along with much of northwestern Montana and northeastern Idaho, was cut off this winter by record snowfalls that reached 40 feet in some areas. The conference press release said that when supplies are exhausted from Great Falls and Columbia Falls, churches will be notified if more is needed.
