What can I do?

Tithe on your gross income

Find some love, Richard

No amount of money sent to the church will help a person who is hurting right in front of you.

It's not business, it's personal.

This is where the rubber of Christianity really meets the road. As a self-designated representative of Christ on Earth, it's my job to do what I can do to help others. And just like I want to have a personal relationship with Jesus, I want to have a personal relationship with those who are in need.

And that has nothing to do with how much or little is contributed to the coffers when the person is in front of you.

[This is not to say that contributions are not important - only that in the context of the article, tithing is way off the mark.]
