Dr. Copeland writes on his YouTube channel:
"The Dear Dad videos continue as matters of sharing important information that I am wanting my Dad to know as he with his church considers disaffiliation. A "fib" is defined as a small or trivial lie; minor falsehood. I chose to use the word "fibbing" in the next few videos to, because all of these are minor diversions from the major issue which is exclusion or limited inclusion of LGBTQ persons.
"Exclusion of people in this day and age, especially in a Christian Church of any denomination, is very unpopular with younger people and most anybody. CEO's know that they could not discriminate like the church without getting in legal trouble. Many are sensitive enough to know excluding a gay person may be a fellow member's son, or grandson, or dear friend. Jesus was constantly befriending the discriminated against and uplifting them with acts of respect and love.
"So, a little fibbing to make the separation about other matters has been the order of the day. Divide an entire denomination is at hand and the fibs pertain are meant to strengthen the case, the problem is these fibs are not true pertaining to: 1) Authority of Scripture, 2) Doctrinal Standards, 3) Binary Choice of Progressive or Traditional, and 4) Experiencing Disobedience EVERYWHERE. In the Dear Dad videos upcoming I will deal with these four fibs and will consider calling out others."
