Narrow is the Path

It was deconstruction that led me away from United Methodism. Hearing of what seemed contradictory to Scripture led to seminary. Seminary led to a revelation of beliefs contradictory to Scripture which led to a deeper pietistic, revivalist, and evangelical faith. All more in-line with John Wesley's beliefs (Wesley observed personal piety, was a revivalist, and by definition an evangelical [Read Roger Olsen's book a brief history of Evangelicalism]). So, deconstruction does lead to a deeper relationship with God and a deeper sense of our role in His Kingdom but not the way this author proposes. "For the gate is narrow and the way is constructed that leads to life, and there are few who find it" (Matt 7:14 NASB).
