Similar experience

I had a very similar experience. Felt "called" to ministry to serve and lift up the people in this world. Invested my own funds for the MDiv. and DMin. with no help or offer of help from the church or anyone else. Having spent $150K of my own and broke, I obtained a $40K Gov't loan which I am still paying off. (Most people are shocked to learn the cost of Seminary.) Feeling unsupported and with no hope for a future in ministry in or for the church, I dropped out of the DMin. program before final exams. (Not the best decision in retrospect) Fortunately, I had Nursing to fall back on and yes, I use my background in ministry to serve my patients.
