Updated Noon (CDT) Nov. 5
As of noon Central Time Nov. 5, the following assignments had been made for bishops in three of the five U.S. jurisdictions of The United Methodist Church.
Assignments reported in each jurisdiction have shown the influence of reduced financial resources for the expenses of paying bishops and maintaining their offices. Thus more bishops have been asked to cover broader areas than previously assigned.
Having completed their elections, Southeastern and Northeastern jurisdictions moved up their consecration services to Friday morning from Saturday, Nov. 5.
