I Love the Church! But I Love My Tribe More

Did you happen to notice the election of Trump?

Not sure how many "tribe" theories went out the window with the election of Trump, but I am sure you are one of the last holders. We Americans ignored all the pundits, party leaders, press and traditions, even family and friends, in voting for an outsider with some real baggage. We were focused on issues, not our tribe. Further, most men I know pride themselves on being individuals who make their own decisions and those decisions are based on experiences, core values, monetary considerations, family needs... Our Methodist Church is not being torn apart by tribes, it is on the brink of major splits because of real issues on which there is essentially no compromise.
