Pathway to Star
Hello, Friend!
That salutation is one of my favorite ways to greet people – and to be greeted by people! Amazing things happen when we start from a point of friendship.
As friends of The United Methodist Church, I'm contacting you for two reasons.
First, I want to thank each of you for your support of United Methodist Insight for the past year. Yes, it was only 12 months ago that an outlandish idea formed – to create an online forum that brought together many different perspectives about the church's future in preparation for the 2012 General Conference. That outlandish idea proved to be so welcomed by you that UM Insight's original mission transformed into an ongoing effort to sustain conversation about the future of global United Methodism.
Second, I'm asking you to give generously to sustain this project through 2013. Few of us are comfortable asking for money, yet we know that our various missions can't be accomplished without it. United Methodist Insight is a mission as well, sponsored by a local congregation, St. Stephen United Methodist Church in Mesquite, Texas, for the purpose of offering an open, independent forum to help our global denomination discern the path toward the future that God dreams for us. We strive to bring together in one convenient place the diverse viewpoints that serve as signposts to the future for our worldwide church.
Giving to UM Insight through St. Stephen UMC is quick, simple and tax-deductible. And for many of us, now's the time to get those last-minute tax deductions in order.
Your generous financial support will allow United Methodist Insight to shine a light on God's path forward for United Methodists worldwide. Thank you!
