GC 2020

We should have rules like these for our elections here. Of course there would be rioting in the streets if we did. This sure looks a bit like voter suppression to me.

"the denomination’s still-unresolved dispute over the status of LGBTQ people." Really? It was resolved at GC 2019. Just because some people did not like the resolution does not mean it wasn't resolved. Clear example of slanted reporting here.

And...

it was resolved in 2016, and in 2012, and in 2008, and in 2004, and in 2000, and in 1996, and in 1992, and in 1988, and in 1984, and in 1980, and in 1976, and in 1972. How many mulligans are enough?

Voter Suppression

"We should have rules like these for our elections here. Of course there would be rioting in the streets if we did. This sure looks a bit like voter suppression to me. "

As long as there's sufficient lead time and honest effort to make sure everyone is informed and assisted in legitimate voter registration, I think you'd find few opponents. Trying to do it for a multitude on a short timeframe without adequate resources is the consistent problem.

For GC2020, we're talking about under 1000 people total, being given several months to be ready. And since the GC2019 has a voting scandal that potentially was significant enough to change a major piece of legislation, there's more defined need.
