Go Episcopal

It is a shame to lose such a dedicated candidate, but the best course of action for her is to begin the process of ordination as an Episcopal Priest. You will not find a more welcoming denomination save the Unitarian Universalists, whose theology is different. The hatemongers and extremists have long since left the Episcopal Church. Unfortunately, they currently control the UMC and while I would prefer she stay and fight the injustices of this recent conclave I totally understand her withdrawal.

Excuse me: A "career in the Episcopal Church would likely be short !

Since the Episcopal Church succumbed to liberalism, it has been lsoing churches. Closed churches need no priests. Google Episcopal membership or church closings and you will get a plethora of information like this below:
"Why is the Episcopal Church near collapse?
Prominent bishops are pulling out. Convention-goers were told headquarters had spent $18 million suing local congregations. Members are leaving at a record rate. This is no longer George Washington’s church – once the largest denomination in the colonies.

The headlines coming out of the Episcopal Church’s annual U.S. convention are stunning — endorsement of cross-dressing clergy, blessing same-sex marriage, the sale of their headquarters since they can’t afford to maintain it."

(Sorry, but spending money to become an Episcopal priest would be like paying for time-travel back to sail on the Titanic. There are so many social needs and non-profit providers where a good, young heart of Christian beliefs would find joy in service. Widen your scope and find the niche which BOTH fills your heart and PAYS YOUR BILLS!

Episcopal Church is Strong

The Episcopal Church is strong here. My local Episcopal Church has four packed services every Sunday, weekday services, weekly dinners, and all sorts of adult and child ministries. They have eight priests.

And they are not the only Episcopal Church in town!

The Episcopal Church is alive and well. GLBT are welcome at all levels!

Given the ugliness of the UMC, I'm headed their way.
